Information on World Bank Note Collecting

World bank note collecting has long been within the purview of people who hold a general but wide range of interests in commerce, politics, geography and the arts. It offers a unique glimpse in minature of the way a nation or people sees itself at a particular moment in time.

One such branch of bank note collecting which is gaining popularity and very much in keeping with the buzz of modern 'technology' is the interest of Nations to issue polymer or plastic bank notes. Both Austrailia and Romania have issued only polymers for the last several years. Nineteen additional Nations have issued polymer bank notes and several more Nations will soon do so.

If polymer notes are the wave of the future, then the approximately seventy four notes for a complete to date set will represent the early issues and most are not expensive. Of course, the bottom line is that notes are appealing to a collectors area of interest. That's why we are offering the polymers (we are selling only our duplicates). We find many of the designs striking and highly artistic and the 'state-of-the-art' technological accomplishment is remarkable.

Take a look at China's 2000 100 Yuan note for a gorgeous example of a millenium issue. Politics probably plays a role as it answered the 1999 Taiwan issue (also a polymer). The Romania 2000 Lei solar eclipse note as well as the Papua New Guinea issues are stunning.
